This is a very special property situated on a terraced hillside of 1.5 acres near the delightful medieval village of Le Bar sur Loup. The view from the property is a panorama of the surrounding mountains of the Maritime Alps, the spectacular Gorge du Loup and the medieval village of Gourdon on its promontory 2,400 feet above sea level. This pastoral setting is within a short distance to the villages of Mougins, Vence, St. Paul de Vence and the jewels of the Riviera; Nice and Cannes.
The gated property is comprised of two Provencal style stone houses both with terra cotta tile roofs and traditional wooden shutters. The houses are intended to be rented together and will sleep up to 10 people (using 2 extra beds). There are several terraces, both sunny and shaded, a new tile swimming pool with large sun deck at one end and shade at the opposite end. There is also a boules pitch. Ancient olive trees and a wonderful variety of plants including jasmine, lavender and rosemary grace the property.
The ground floor of the main house has a spacious living room with marble floors, comfortable sofas and chairs as well as a dining table seating 8/10. There is satellite TV, DVD, a CD stereo system and high speed DSL. Double French doors lead to a balcony that runs the length of the room and offers spectacular views to the mountains. A guest toilet is off the foyer.
The well-equipped kitchen (dishwasher, cook top, oven, fridge/freezer) has French doors leading to a flagstone terrace furnished with a large wrought iron table, teak chairs and BBQ.
Also on this floor are two bedrooms, each with king-size beds that can be separated into twins, good storage space and ensuite bathrooms, one with shower and one with bathtub and shower over. There is a third double bedroom with its own entrance via a private stone stairway. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower, beamed ceiling and its own small balcony.
La Petite Maison, a spacious two-level house that is only 30 meters from the main house on the other side of the swimming pool, offers separate and equally comfortable accommodations for a couple and up to two children. On the ground floor are a large living room-dining area with two armchairs that convert into single beds, a dining table for six, and a CD stereo system. The pretty kitchen is equipped with gas cook top, fridge/freezer, microwave and clothes washer. A guest toilet is off the living room.
The first floor of La Petite Maison is has a large bedroom with king-size bed, separate dressing area, and a tiled ensuite bath with twin basins and bathtub with shower over. The bedroom overlooks the swimming pool and has magnificent views of the mountains that rise from the valley of the Loup River.
The property has a two-car garage and utility room with clothes washer and two tumble dryers.
